The more complex the roof, the bigger the difference between the useful area (roof dimensions) and the full area (material dimensions). On very complex roofs it can reach 40%. A calculation in specialised software keeps waste down so you do not overpay for extra material. The calculator results are approximate and cannot be used as a formal estimate or a material order.

Yes. Sheets are counted by their effective width and the material area by their full width, so the overlap is included. On hip and pyramid roofs each sheet is calculated at the length actually needed in its position.
